Silverdale School Sheffield Unfinished Water Sculpture or Children’s Play Area?

Silverdale School in Sheffield has a strange looking steel sculpture outside its main entrance. The question I and I presume many people ask is what is it ?

It appears to resemble rocks in a stream bed, sort of flowing down the steps, but in my opinion it is missing something crucial and that something is water!, Water flowing over and pooling around and through the objects would make it a far more intricate and understandable sculpture. Perhaps a decade or so from now when I graduate, I will be allowed to come back and finish it?

In the meantime it makes a great play area for younger children.

Sami, quit embarrassing me!
